Guernsey Cruise Industry Growth – Alongside Berth for St Peter Port
An economic impact study has been undertaken to identify the viability of building an alongside cruise berth in St Peter Port. The project is very much at the fact finding stage and is being looked at as part of a wider port development plan.
A scoping document is being presented to the Guernsey Government in January 2012 to investigate whether there is appetite amongst politicians to take the concept further. The island is extremely passionate and appreciative of the cruise liner business but is also facing austerity budgeting so it should be an interesting debate.
