The Guernsey Tapestry
Completed in 1998 after 2 years of stitching, the tapestry was a project involving the entire community – one tapestry panel for each of the 10 parishes. It was taken to schools, hospitals and residential homes so that everyone on the island could add their stitch to this moving portrayal of 1000 years of local history. www.guernseytapestry.org.gg
Sausmarez Manor - where jungle meets manicured meets sculpture park
The gardens and sculpture park are jaw droppingly dramatic. Camellias, magnolias, banana trees and hundreds of exotic plants, ponds, art sculptures – utterly different. Local artists display their work in a ‘jungle’ type setting. Open all year round until dusk.
