Racing legend Andy Priaulx to launch 2017 Channel Islands Heritage Festival in Guernsey

Professional racing driver and Guernsey-man Andy Priaulx MBE will kick off the proceedings for the third Channel Islands Heritage Festival with a ‘Local Heroes’ dinner and talk at the four-star Duke of Richmond Hotel in Guernsey on 8 April 2017.
With this year’s theme of ‘Heroes, Myths and Legends’, it is fitting for the Guernsey-born champion to host one of the first activities of the 2017 festival, which takes place across the islands of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark between 8 April and 10 May 2017.  The evening event will see Andy telling his story, from growing up as a go-karting enthusiast in Guernsey to becoming the European and Triple World Touring Car Champion. He will talk about the challenges of being a professional racing driver, and how returning to his home on the island has helped him to stay focussed and relaxed. There will be many stories from his experiences of the racing circuit, where he’ll uncover some of the myths about professional racing.

The event will also include a three course dinner featuring a choice of three starters, main courses and deserts, such as beef carpaccio, pan fried fillet of sea bass, and chocolate and hazelnut marquaise, followed by coffee and chocolates.

Tickets for ‘Local Heroes: Dinner with racing legend, Andy Priaulx MBE’ are £30 per person, which includes the talk and three course dinner. To book, email [email protected] Full pre-payment and pre-orders are required.

The four star Duke of Richmond Hotel is located in St Peter Port, Guernsey. Classic double rooms on Saturday 8 April 2017 are priced from £143 including breakfast and based on two people sharing.
