VisitGuernsey at Destinations Shows

VisitGuernsey staff attended and exhibited at the Destinations Travel Show in Manchester on the 17th – 20th January earlier this month, and is set to have a Guernsey stand at the sister Destinations Show, at Olympia in London later this week, on Thursday until Sunday.  The combined shows are attended by circa 80,000 visitors, and attract a mature, affluent audience of people who are actively in the market to book a holiday and are looking for ideas and inspiration as to where to go.  Joining VisitGuernsey on the stand were representatives from both Aurigny and Premier Holidays.

Around a combined 5,000 items of Guernsey and Bailiwick literature, including brochures and maps, are expected to be given out to visitors to our stand during the shows. More importantly, quality leads have been generated for our industry partners and holiday bookings already made, from enquiries generated at the Manchester show.

Short Description:

Feedback from visitors was highly positive, with a lot of interest generated in the stand by the highly distinctive blue Guernsey letterbox, as well as a competition to win a holiday to Guernsey, sponsored by Aurigny and Channel Islands Direct.

Many visitors to the stand expressed their desire to holiday closer to home this year, a trend that Guernsey is aptly-placed to capitalise on, along with questions about the feasibility of bringing dogs to the islands.
