Episode 2: Jersey and Guernsey

More than a million viewers tuned in to watch Channel 5’s new series, Jersey and Guernsey, which aired for the first-time last week.

21 June 2023

The new six-part TV series, narrated by Alan Titchmarsh, celebrates the querks and charms of the Channel Islands, with Episode 1 airing last Thurs (15th June). It was the highest rated programme on Channel 5, peaking at just under 1.2 million viewers and resulted in a spike in traffic to the VisitGuernsey website, which saw a 38% increase on Thurs evening. Brochure requests have also increased following the first episode last week.

The team at VisitGuernsey spent several months working closely with the production crew, who were on island for eight weeks, on content, logistics, scheduling and introducing them to some of our islands' most colourful characters

From the research stage to production we provided on island support, including permits, weather and tide advice and stock footage. Working with teams across the States of Guernsey, we provided behind the scenes access to many areas for the film crew to capture the essence of our islands.

Tonight’s episode features caterer, Mim Sarre, who is awaiting the arrival of a bright pink, custom built pizza truck to expand her business at Cobo, and the making of traditional Guernsey jumpers.

From this week, the series is moving to Wednesdays, so make sure you tune in tonight at 8pm.
